The getting to Spain part

Departed Atlanta airport at 4:40pm. Off to a great start… with the airport attendant’s patience, Megan and I haphazardly juggled belongings in our bags around to create the perfect combination of 4 checked bags containing 50lbs each. And after a few scares by the parentals testing our skills at keeping our belongings away from airport thieves, we safely boarded the airplane. The 8 hours went by very quickly and highlights included 2 player Tetris matches and in-flight yoga. Our yogi instructor refused to believe that we were not in a spacious wooded room but rather in a small coach airplane seat. Those relaxing stretches just aren’t the same when seated in a small blue chair.

We arrived in Amsterdam and have so far learned that “Amsterdamians” really like lime green tile. These tiles pretty much line every wall in the airport. Amsterdam flight attendants are also required to wear black scrunchies in addition to their bright blue uniforms, and it is still debatable whether the blue eye shadow is also a mandatory requirement. We have spotted a couple kids that we believe to belong in our study abroad group. Their innocent little faces and preppy polos are a dead give away. Wikipedia has also informed us that Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, and that the Netherlands and Holland are not the same place. We are still somewhat confused at the difference.
